Lapping Slurry

The Lapping Slurry unit was designed to provide automated slurry mixing and suspension for a lap slurry. This 2 tank system consists of a 300 gallon mixing tank and a 500 gallon supply tank. The mixing tank prepares the slurry mix and transfers the solution to the supply tank where up to 2 batches can be held until called for by the process equipment.
Slurry grit powder bags are loaded onto an elevator and lifted up to a hopper.
The hopper delivers metered amounts of grit powder to the mixing tank. A pump draws carrier fluid from a 55 gallon supply drum into a 15 gallon meter tank that in turn supplies a pre measured amount to the mix tank. DI water is plumbed to the system where a proximity sensor brings it to a predetermined level in the mixing tank. The Mixing Tank agitates the 3 ingrediants with a mixing motor and a recirculation pump that draws from the bottom of the tank and deposits the solution back onto the top.
