Ink Jet ID System

The ink jet printing stand is one of several stations in a large rotary transfer manufacturing cell. These fully automated machines use dual inkjet print heads to apply part numbers on production units. At this station, a rapidly moving servo “X & Y” stage carries dual inkjet print heads through a pre -programmed pattern to apply the part number identification. Printing is done “on the fly” at a travel rate of 6 inches per second.

  • SYNCRONIZED X-Y SERVO MOTION CONTROL.
  • PLC CONTROLS.
  • PRECISION POSITIONING.

Cut and Place

These specialized product supply machines unroll, precisely cut, and place urethane sheets into production fixtures on an automated assembly system. The units are controlled independently but operate in unison with other component feeding equipment. Due to the bulky and heavy nature of the urethane rolls this operation required automation and this custom equipment was designed to mate into the current production process.

  • PLC CONTROLS.
  • INTEGRATED MOTION CONTROLS.
  • PRECISON POSITIONING.

Ferrite Assembly Machine

The Ferrite Assembly Machine assembles ferrite beads into pre-formed sheet metal housings. The ferrite beads are fed via a vibratory feeder bowl and positioned by a track for insertion into the housings. The housings are supplied via gravity fed track from an adjacent pressing operation. After the ferrites are inserted, the parts are transferred into a pneumatic "staking" station, and transferred again to an exit track.

  • VIBRATORY FEED BOWL.
  • PRECISON POSITIONING.

Flex Cable Bonder

The Flex Cable Bonder is a compact, table top, semi-automatic assembly tool used to precisely align and ultrasonically weld flexible cables onto cell phone printed circuit boards. The PCB’s are held in tooling nests mounted on a four-station rotary transfer table. A vision system, with 10X magnification, provides operator input for flex cable registration with the board, while fine adjustments are easily made with a micrometer integrated into each PCB nest. The flex cable is then automatically ultrasonically welded onto the boards at the weld station.

  • IR WELDING.
  • INTEGRATED MOTION CONTROL.
  • PRECISION POSITIONING.

Burn In Test System

The Burn In Test System performs the critical intital power-up and quality tests during flat panel manufacturing. The system has 8 sections, with 6 test/monitor stations each, providing a total capacity of 48 test/monitor stations. Each section is able to perform tests independant of the other sections, even when partially loaded.

  • HIGH DC CONTROL CIRCUIT.
  • CUSTOM DESIGNED CIRCUIT BOARDS.
  • PRECISION TOOLING AND POSITIONING.

Wafer Alignment Flat Checker

This inspection tool is used to check the alignment flat on silicon wafers immediately following the edge grind process. The wafer is manually placed on the tool's vacuum chuck against a precision gage block. Once in position, a Vacuum chuck holds the wafer securely for the wafer flat check. A precision dial indicator with 1 micron resolution displays inspection data.
